I went for my initial sleep study in August and it was determined that my thunderous snoring and constant fatigue was in fact, sleep apnea. They couldn't reschedule my titration study (because of a computer glitch they were having at the Doc's office), so I was supposed to call them back to schedule.
Well, one long drawn out nasty head cold, and a few weeks for good measure, I finally scheduled the study.
Friday night I showed up at 9pm as scheduled but this time they used a cpap mask that covered both my nose and my mouth. During my initial study, they applied the "nose only" mask which gave me some trouble because of my crappy sinuses. This time all went well. I slept, I had dreams, and I was surprised when I was awakened that it was 5:30.
The next step is to review the info with my Doctor so I'm hoping to wrap this up soon. I only slept about six hours but I did feel well rested and my head wasn't all clogged (like it normally is when I wake up) in the morning.

Phase II... cpap titration complete
Re: Phase II... cpap titration complete
While you are waiting for the results from the latest titration study, you have some homework to do if you want to make sure that you get the machine you want to sleep with every night for the next five years instead of a machine that a heartless, unknown DME wants you to sleep with because it will (marginally) give them a bit more profit during the first couple of months you are on therapy.
First read and re-read What you need to know before your meet your DME by JanKnitz. Lots of good info and advice.
Second, JanKnitz also has a guide to Data Capable Machines that is up-to-date and reflects what's on the market now.
Third, my Advice to the newly diagnosed may be useful.
Fourth, if you need help in understanding all the acronyms and terms used on the sleep study report, my Understanding the data in your sleep test will be useful.
