Slightly OT:For help in sorting out health insurance billing

I heard about this website today. It's free and came highly recommended. With an HMO I don't have all these headaches with insurance billing (EXCEPT for CPAP supplies!) but it might be useful to others. I'm interested if anybody tries this how they like it and how well it works for them. I'd like to be able to recommend it to people I work with if it is a good resource, so feedback to me is appreciated.

The site is http://www.simplee.com. I have NO affiliation with the site at all, just curious. The info I was reading about it said:

The system, built on sophisticated algorithms, collects American healthcare insurance data and gives users a friendly interface that points out anomalies and cost-saving measures. For now the service is free to use.
Founded in 2010 out of a development center in Hod Hasharon, Israel, and a team in Palo Alto, Simplee is already helping Americans save money by making the billing system more transparent.
While the platform is already in use by thousands of individuals in the United States, the sole focus for the foreseeable future is to partner with corporations looking to save on their employee healthcare plans. Starbucks, notes Rabinovich, spends more money on healthcare policies than it does on coffee beans.
The idea started when one of the partners, Tomer Shoval, was living and working in the US. He needed to submit some healthcare forms after his family returned from a vacation in Mexico where they all got sick. Shoval found that getting sick wasn’t the worst of it.

The company recently saved one user $1,500 by alerting him that this charge for lab tests could have been avoided had he gone to an in-network provider. He determined that he had indeed gone to a lab in his network, and the insurance company refunded the money.”

I can't imagine why anyone would want to hand this information over.

Nor do I see what they offer in return. They are redisplaying whatever is already on your insurer's website when you log in and hoping to turn a profit on it somehow. Which I have no doubt they will do. What I do doubt is that they way they do it will in any way benefit the poor user who hands over formerly confidential information to them.

WHILE THE SITE MAY BE INNOCENT YOU SHOULD NOT GIVE OUT INFORMATION TO THEM. THE PRIVACY RULES OF THE USA DO NOT APPLY TO ISRAEL.
there is no way to be sure you information is safe - and unless their site is HTTPS you information is not encrypted. An unencrypted site is like sending a postcard with all your information on it.

All that help is at your insurance provider, as their one example confirms. If that user had queried his insurer he would have been given an accurate list of preferred providers. IMHO this is a phishing operation.
