Have new Rx for APAP!! Anyone have the Clinicians Manual?

Post by Kalona » Sat Feb 18, 2006 5:11 pm

I am a new poster, but have been lurking for the past few months.

In that time I have learned so much from all of you. Enough that although I started out the first few months with straight CPAP, I was recently able to convince my sleep doc to change my prescription to an APAP.

I was not able to get the Clinicians Manual from the DME. I don’t have any changes to make right now, I just want to be able to when the time comes !! Can someone send me (PM) the Clinicians Manual for the REMstar Auto?

Some background: I went for my sleep study last fall, because of daytime sleepiness. I went to one of the top rated sleep centers in the country, but I am not impressed. They may be good technically, but they forgot about patient care. I don’t have much info regarding my study (even though I have asked), but from the stats I was given, I do know that I have severe OSA. Out of frustration with both the sleep clinic and the DME, I found this board. I am now an “informed patient” and have been able to take more control of the medical treatment of my OSA.

Again, I want to thank everyone on this board, I have learned a great deal from your posts.

I don't have an electronic copy to PM you, but can explain how to access the Provider menu. First unplug power. Then, press and hold down the two middle buttons under the display window while reconnecting power. Keep the buttons pressed for several seconds after reconnecting power and the display will change to provider mode.

Once you are in provider mode the two middle buttons allow you to scroll through the menu. The HEAT and RAMP buttons allow you to change a particular selection. Once you've played with it a little bit things should be obvious. Once folks get into the provider mode, not many questions come up. Good luck.

Regards,
Bill

Also get the Free Encore Pro Software and the 2 Factors reader card, also you can change the prescription from the card.
