OT: Happy Thanksgiving Everyone 2011

Post by Starlette » Wed Nov 23, 2011 8:42 am

This may be the last time to check the forum till Friday.

Those of you who have to travel, be safe. I offered my day (Hubby's coming too since he's on vacation this week) to assist MIL get ready for her big meal tomorrow. Those who cook (I am this year with a pumpkin and rhubarb pies), be safe in the kitchen too.
Attempting to get my A game one in preparation for today. Never had to be concerned about A game since I've been married.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I gather the holiday is celebrated a bit differently in the frozen north? Besides earlier!

Happy Thanksgiving! This will be my first one on my CPAP and only about 3 weeks at that. This year I can definitely say I am thankful for something and that's finding this forum!!

I am thankful for my PAPpy. That is not to say that I love it, but I am thankful for it.
I am thankful for my hubby and kids, who are supportive of PAPpy and me.
I am thankful for everyone here, for all of the guidance I have received since I joined.
Thanks to each and every one of you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Just got home for the evening. Our bodies are sore from so much standing. Man, we worked hard getting ready for tomorrow! As for my pies, I found out when we went to King Soopers that rhubarb is not in season. Ok, so onto plan B making that 2 pumpkin pies and 2 strawberry/blackberry pies. One of each for both families. The kitchen was chaotic but we got it done. Let me say this first, looks the pumpkin pies appear to be blue ribbon status in appearance. As for the two berry pies, well let's just say I'd appreciate some javelin prayers if you have a minute or two to spare between tonight and tomorrow afternoon. In the business of it all we put my pies in the oven. When I turned around my jaw dropped with horror when I asked MIL & DH why is that flour and sugar still there on the counter???? Forgot to mixed it in the berry mix after it sat for 30 minutes. Pull them out of the oven, tore the upper crust off and threw away both upper and lower crust, put the berry mix "with flour and sugar" in a bake pan, made crisp topping (never heard of that before) and restuck them in the oven. When we took them out they tasted awesome. However, I'm afraid by tomorrow, they'll be rock hard. MIL says we can just reheat and they should be good to go. We shall see. Had everything gone to plan they would have been blue ribbon pies too. *sigh* Oh well, lesson learned. It was all a labor of love. Just finished our sushi for dinner and sipping on a brew atm. Considering to calling it an early evening tonight.

For those of you just starting to use your cpaps this holiday season, you're lucky! You'll be able to enjoy your day tomorrow all the more

Starlett/all, happy turkey day.

This day finds me in rainy northern CA, w/wife's family.
Really nice to be here.
Came through TSA security w/cpap, no problem.
Really feel like a pro traveling w/cpap, now.

Bought distilled water once w/got here and
set up last night, no sweat.

Hope everyone has a great Tday.

Teknomom, I hope you get your machine soon.

After a great night of sleep I am ready to enjoy the day,
in a fun place w/wonderful family.

Much to be thankful for in my life.
