unplugging mask and leak readout

Post by mpetershat » Sun Nov 20, 2011 5:40 pm

I have had my Resmed 9 3 nights and have kept the mask on and just disconnected from cpap hose and leave it blowing when going to the bathroom. I assume this adds to my mask leak data. Does it?

Yes.

It will affect the maximum pressure leak number and the 95% number somewhat depending on how much time lapses. Easy to see on a software leak line graph though so no big deal as long as you are aware of its impact on numbers. I don't pay much attention to the leak numbers themselves. I just look at leak line and if no huge leaks and is mostly stable, I don't care what the numbers say. Some people are really into the zero numbers thing though.

If you turn on SmartStop the blower will turn off when you remove your mask and turn on again when you put it back on. But as Pugsy says the effects on your data will be quite negligible if it runs while you are just away for a minute or two.

i turn my on each Sunday for about 5 minutes to dry out any droplets of H20 that may be in the hose. I dont have the mask attached. I guess this would effect my numbers i see on Monday morning?

Should i not be doing this?
