Mask Disconnects?

Post by Craig » Wed Nov 16, 2011 1:24 pm

Love my Mirage Activa but I can't get them anymore from my DME.

DME's are very limited here in DE so I'm more or less stuck with staying with my current DME.

Anyway, when I reordered they sent me the Mirage LT. I have no problem with the fit, but when you have to "get up in the night" as many times as I do, I HAVE to have a quick mask disconnect, i.e. the Mirage Active.

They exchanged the LT for the FX which meets my disconnect needs and seemed comfortable until I used it under pressure. I had to tighten the mask MUCH more than I was comfortable with to stop the leaks.

Having said all of that, my question is, "Will a hard plastic hose quick disconnect used between the hose and humidifier (hard plastic to hard plastic) work if I went back to the Mirage LT and used it between the mask and hose or will it simply be blown off under 12-14 pressure"?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

I would stay away from the quick disconnect if at all possible. Just out of curiosity... my DME doesn't stock my mask either... so everytime I am due a new one, they have to order it from Philips. Why can't your DME order it from the manufacturer even though they don't stock it?
