SleepyHead info - where?
Is there anywhere that you can find about which sleep-turbos it supports and which media?
Which windows versions does it support?
I'm writing here, because many others may be interested too, and because it looks like
jedimark is quite involved with the development.

Re: SleepyHead info - where?
Mark aka jedimark is the developer. It is his project. The program is at an alpha testing level and is far from a finished, polished product intended for everyday use at this point. You are certainly welcome to test the program, report any and all bugs, and request feature enhancements. However, at this early stage in the development, no help system exists. You need to poke around, figure out how it works, and rely on the generosity of strangers to answer your questions and provide usage tips. If all this does not scare you off, then please subscribe to the sleepyhead-users or sleepyhead-devel mailing list, or both, at sourceforge:
https://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=513997
You will need a sourceforge account before you can subscribe to either mailing list. Those mailing lists are devoted exclusively to SleepyHead and are the most reliable means to bring issues to Mark's attention.

Re: SleepyHead info - where?
I'm a bit worried about the mailing lists. Are these mailing lists open to everyone?
I once joined the linux kernel mailing list (after installing my first Red Hat Linux at the end of 1990's) and I had to get a new e-mail account. Very soon my mailbox was constantly full of spam.
That probably answers the question if I'm scared about everything not polished out for me.
At the time RHL (note: RHL, not RHEL) was not that well documented either.
I checked for Linux support (I have dual boot in two machines - Ubuntu/Vista and Mint/W2k) and suddenly found this:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/s ... =Main_Page
Google didn't offer that yesterday when I tried to find "sleepyhead sourceforge".
It looks like the infoI was looking for IS there.
(Support for W2k - no, support for Linux - by compiling, support for ARC-32 or DT3500 - no)

Re: SleepyHead info - where?
I am unaware of any spam received as a result of subscribing to the mailing lists. I can't imagine that spammers would be interested in such relatively tiny and obscure distributions. Not worth their time. I don't think you have much to worry about.
BTW, Mark has started a wiki to provide info about SleepyHead. This will undoubtedly grow over time:

Re: SleepyHead info - where?
Mailing lists can be a little annoying.. I'm working on a few other alternatives..
I'm working on a user guide on the Wiki.. It's a work in progress, so it won't answer all questions yet..
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/s ... sers_Guide
I've added some technical docs in the wiki too. Needs a lot more work.
There's also the IdeaTorrent feature request system.. I'm finding it rather cool. You can add your ideas for new features, and vote ones you like..
SleepyHead builds natively on Linux, MacOSX & Windows. Probably BSD too..
It has been tested on all versions of Windows since XP (32 and 64bit, including Vista & 7)

Re: SleepyHead info - where?
Like I mentioned in my previous message, I suddenly found the wiki. Great.
It may not answer all questions, but seems it answered all my questions.
Have you planned to add smart card reader support?
I have S8 Autoset, and to try the SW I probably need to make a personal kludge for
ARC-38 to it. That is, IF I manage to find the time.
If you are planning to do it, I guess I'll just wait...

Smart Card readers are little torturous.. Not easy devices to work with, especially across multiple platforms..turbosnore wrote:Like I mentioned in my previous message, I suddenly found the wiki. Great.

If the S8 stores EDF data on it's smart card, it's theoretically possible provided another means was available for extraction from the raw block data.

Re: SleepyHead info - where?
I don't know if the EDF is used with ARC38, but I guess it shouldn't be too hard to find out in Linux:
http://packages.debian.org/lenny/libacr38u
BTW, about the EDF description: what does "8 ascii" mean? 8 bits or bytes?
8 ascii : version of this data format (0)
80 ascii : local patient identification (mind item 3 of the additional EDF+ specs)
Is the header info really in ASCII, not binary?

Interesting.. I'll check that ARC38 stuff out.turbosnore wrote:I don't know if the EDF is used with ARC38, but I guess it shouldn't be too hard to find out in Linux:

They are stored in blocks of ASCII in a binary file..
the 8/80 (decimal) are in bytes..
