Advice on "Sleepweaver Advance" wanted

Post by Fossy » Sun Nov 06, 2011 9:13 am

I was looking at different masks recently and I stumbled upon the Sleepweaver and well, I found a site i could buy it from in Europe but with no return policy and no idea if it'll fit or not I'm not sure if it'd be a good purchase or not.

When it comes to mask size I usually have to use a "large", at least in the two masks other than the one I have now that I've tried on - "ComfortGel Full CPAP Mask" & "ComfortGel Blue Nasal Mask".
Personally I've got a rather large head, 60 cm in circumference, a big face and a beard But I read that the beard part wasn't something to be worried about with the sleepweaver.. But yeah, is the mask mainly made for people with smaller heads?
Anyone got any experience with it, good or bad that they'd like to share?

Looking forward to hearing from you guys.

Sorry no experience with the Sleepweaver but there are a handful of members here with some experience with this mask. Giving your post a little bump to bring it up to the top so maybe a Sleepweaver user will see it and see if they can answer your question.

If you can use the SW, you'll love it. It's so comfortable.

A lot of us, including me, can't get the leaks down to an acceptable level. I don't think the size of your head has anything to do with the leaks. If you have a big nose, there's just not enough room inside the SW, so it won't fit all the way down onto your face.

I don't have a beard, but I don't think a beard would interfere with the SW.

If there were any way you, or possibly an American friend, could buy it from our sponsor here:

you would be able to return it, if it didn't work for you.

I had been interested in the sleepweaver also and since my DME hadn't heard of it, I contacted the customer service dept via their website http://www.circadiance.com and here was their reply:
Yes, we do offer a 30 day replacement policy. If a patient choses our mask at a medical supply company and it does not work for them within the first 30 days, we will replace the medical supply company’s stock with a new mask. If a patient were to purchase the mask out of pocket, directly from our website and decide were not satisfied within 30 days, they would be refunded the cost of the mask within 14 business of the return of the mask.
Hope this helps....let us know if you get it and how it works. I plan on checking it out also through my DME first.

The Sleepweaver was very comfortable, but just too many leaks. You really have to play with it to get it right. Maybe I didn't give it enough time, but went back happily to my Swift FX for her.

I hope it works for those of you interested in trying it out.
