ResMed Rolls Out CPAP Therapy Products Designed Specifically

From RT e-magazine:
ResMed Rolls Out CPAP Therapy Products Designed Specifically for Women

Three masks specially designed for women kick off the new Choices for Her CPAP products from ResMed Corp. The line includes masks from the company's FX Series, as well as the S9 AutoSet™ for Her therapy device.

“By providing a range of choices for this specific patient segment, we hope to overcome the psychological hurdle of treatment for first-time female patients as well as introduce a new set of offerings for patients who have already been on therapy for a while,” stated Bernadette McBrearty, vice president, product marketing. “We want to send the message that they can still look and feel like themselves while on therapy.”

The “Choices for Her” range allows the company to offer better fitting options and customized styling for its female patients, which may help them accept therapy early on and remain compliant in the long run, according to ResMed.

The FX family of masks boasts lightweight, unobtrusive design and comfortable cushion technology. Each "Choices for Her" mask is packaged with the cushion size(s) that fit most women, so finding the perfect fit is easier than ever. Finally, all masks also come in a stylish pink design to promote a softer, more feminine approach to therapy.

The S9 AutoSet for Her is also within the “Choices for Her” range. Offering the quiet comfort of the S9 Easy-Breathe motor and Enhanced AutoSet algorithm, the S9 AutoSet for Her ensures that the patient’s sleep environment remains quiet and peaceful, according to the company.

I wonder if ResMed will also put out a press release stating - "ResMed will continue to rip off, charge more than double the price and deny access to cheaper prices for all of their equipment to anyone living outside of the United States"? Somehow, i doubt it.

And for next year . . .
The new "Choices for Him" masks are packaged with cushion size(s) that fit most men. These masks come in a mean dark green camouflage design to promote a tougher, more masculine approach to therapy.

The S9 AutoSet for Him is also within the “Choices for Him” range. Offering the deadly-assassin silence of the S9 Easy-Breathe motor and the dial-wingin' customization possible with controls for the unit, the S9 AutoSet for Him ensures that the patient’s sleep environment remains geeky, woodsy, yet hunting-blind quiet for deer season, according to the company.

Ehhh. Sticks and stones, right? He will probably say I'm a liar and a hypocrite for forging a ResMed ad. Ooooh, scarrrrry!!! I wonder how long he'll stay in the [ticked-off] stage before he accepts the truth about positional therapy?

That's insulting. Pink cheekstraps instead of blue are supposed to help me to be compliant.

ROTFL!!!
That whole spoof ad was classic "jnk" -- so funny!

Never again will I be able to mention how quiet the S9 machines are, without that line popping into my mind and making me chuckle!!

the whole pink thing is just CRAP

yeah I am F and I hate PINK

I want turquoise myself - when will Resmed offer me stuff in turquoise?

I really want to order Mirage™ FX for Her Nasal CPAP Mask as the headgear is smaller but

I DON'T WANT PINK

oh gawd I can't stand that color font either -------------

Well, maybe you could paint cute little flowers on the blower and wrap some lace around the tubing and dangle some glittery earrings from your power cord and just call it even?

I have to say, I thought the little brochure that came with my Swift for her pillow mask was one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. It said that there were "two interchangeable straps -- hot pink and blue-grey -- so I could coordinate with my sleepwear." Guys, I don't care what color the strap is! I want equipment that will treat my OSA.

earrings? lace? none here

oh there was that lace that linda (from ASAA) offered me on some kind of hose or mask cover when she was flirting with me over here thinking I was male - still got the conversation somewhere
