Quick update -- coming to the end of my 2nd week with my good friend Pappy and I must say I'm still not noticing much of a difference. I'm going to give it time and my mind is wide open. I always put the mask on like 20 minutes or so before I try to sleep - watching TV, writing, reading, etc and start the ramp. But as soon as I close my eyes to try and sleep my brain is telling me "dude, you know there's this thing on your face blowing air in your nose and mouth, right? You might wanna get it off?"
I think I have found a winner mask. It's called the comfortgel (forgive the spelling) by respironics. It's more comfortable and it feels more secure than my Quattro. Time will tell however.
My question is this; is one of those special CPAP pillows worth my money? The problem I'm finding is that I'm a side sleeper. I get the mask adjusted and secure for one side (because it gets smushed in my pillow) but invariably if I roll over it gets pushed and smushed the other way. I'd like some opinions on those pillows from those who might use one and tell me what's the best and worth sinking my money and my head into?
A question and an update
Re: A question and an update
I am a side sleeper and use the Swift FX for her nasal pillow. I am sleeping on a Sobakawa cloud pillow bought at Bed Bath and Beyond. Love it. Comfortable and can get it to shift so is out of the way of my mask.
Other folks here say the Buckwheat hull pillows work this way too.

I have to second the motion on the Sobakawa Cloud Pillow. I use Swift LT her her and I am also a side sleeper. I purchased my pillow from CVS pharmacy. I love my pillow. I can't sleep without it.

regular pillow
Too many new/fancy ones are too thick and make my neck hurt.

Hi Bama,
Glad your therapy is going well. I agree that the ComfortGel is a pretty good mask. It's very individualistic, depending on face shape...but for me also the ComfortGel works much better then the Quatro. The Quatro is stiffer and doesn't comform as well.
I just use a regular pillow but that's just because I'm too lazy and cheap to order a special one. I just tuck it under so it doesn't push the mask aside. Keep up the good work...

Re: A question and an update
I bit the bullet and got a sobakowa pillow. I'm a little mad at myself that it took becoming a hosehead to get one because that thing rocks! Highly recommended.
Regarding the comfortgel mask, I think it's the gel liner that makes it more comfortable. Though last night after cleaning and reassembling it I lost the adjustments I had and kept getting leaks. It isn't 100% yet but I think it's a winner.

Re: A question and an update
I found that after I got my mask adjusted to where I wanted it with no leaks I made a couple of marks on the straps with a felt marker. After washing I could just line up the marks and it was back to where I wanted it.
