Hi all! Still getting new masks...
Hi all! Still getting new masks...
Just wanted to check in and thank everyone here for all of the advice! Im still getting new masks. I guess I am lucky in that my health insurance pays for a mask as needed at 80% so I do not have to wait around too much if something does not work. I decided the nasal pillows are not for me due to high leakage and being sleepy during the day. Many masks are not good to my skin so I have had difficulty. I have a few of the Pad a cheek liners but the masks leak so I gave them to a friend to try....Maybe good news is on the way. I just got the True Blue by respironics. ( the RT gave it to me so what the heck) I feel much better today and had very little leaks last night...if any at all. However the mask made a pretty red ring around my nose...guess its time to order another liner or change my own. This has been the best mask so far...Aerophagia is gone ( knock on wood). I also have the Opti Life nasal pillows. I use this one for naps. Just wanted to check in!

Glad to hear you have found a keeper. I am between the REsmed Swift LT for her and the Golife for her. I like both. I like the fact that the Golife for her is pretty reasonably priced. I have no insurance so cost is always a consideration for me.
I miss CPAP auction....wahhhhhhh!!!!!

Well I feel much better with this mask....but when I look at my Resmed software...it shows major leaks above the red line all night...but my AHI was only .9. I do not see how or where the heck it is leaking??? every single mask I have used shows this...i do not feel any leaks at all...i think im going to stop looking at the software...i think it just frustrates me
Re: Hi all! Still getting new masks...
If you had leaks above the red line all night, the AHI data is not reliable. I am glad you feel so much better with the new mask, but I have to think you will have to get the leaks under control.tmorris wrote:Well I feel much better with this mask....but when I look at my Resmed software...it shows major leaks above the red line all night...but my AHI was only .9. Make sure that you've set your machine for the mask you are using. I've read that if you switch from a FFM to a Nasal or Nasal Pillows Mask, you may need to make sure your machine knows which mask you're using so that your data is correct.
Tomorrow I'll be picking up a FFM from my DME. I have been successfully using an EasyLife Nasal mask, but wanted to try a FFM and have one handy just in case. Since I'm due for a new mask (although I don't need to replace the EasyLife mask at this point), I'm using that to get the FFM. Going to read my manual to see if there are any changes needed at the machine.
So something to consider and check into. You may find that you need to and your data will reflect more accurately.

Re: Hi all! Still getting new masks...
Your reports...do they ever show no leak? Reason I ask perhaps there is a leak elsewhere. Just a thought.
Or does the night start off good and go downhill after that?

May be you have a leak in your hose or in a fitting, just a thought.
