Buying a Bipap
Buying a Bipap
Has anyone here tried ordering their machine through secondwind cpap? If so, are they reputable? Was the machine they ordered in the condition they said it would be in on their site? I'm new to all this and was looking at machines on cpap dot com but then I looked at my rx and realized I needed a Bipap and as I'm sure everyone here is aware those things come with a hefty pricetag and with no insurance their is no way I'll be able to afford it. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Re: Buying a Bipap
I got one recently from second wind... other than having to remind them as they didn't ship it in a timely fashion... I'm satisfied with the machine and the service.
Re: Buying a Bipap
Several members have used secondwindcpap.com. I have no experience with them.
When you looked at cpap.com prices...did you look at the PR S1 BiPaps? If so did you check for the discounted price?
It is substantially lower than initial posted price. To see the discounted price type in LOW in the discount code box.
If that is still too high for wallet..then secondwind would be a good option.
No insurance or high deductible making you look for out of pocket purchase as opposed to going through regular DME supplier?

What do you mean remind them? As in they didn't intend to send it? Or you didn't receive it as soon as you though you would have? Thanks.cflame1 wrote:I got one recently from second wind... other than having to remind them as they didn't ship it in a timely fashion... I'm satisfied with the machine and the service.
Re: Buying a Bipap
Yeah no insurance. I've seen that they have lower prices. But I didn't even check for the Bipap because the price tag was so large to start with, but I'll give it a quick look see.
Re: Buying a Bipap
Sometimes some good deals on Craigslist but one really needs to know their machine models.
What is the RX for? Straight BiLevel or Auto BiLevel?

Re: Buying a Bipap
It got to be Tuesday after I'd ordered it on Friday and I hadn't heard when it was shipping... I emailed them asking when it was shipping and it was shipped the next day. So all in all it took more than a week from when it was ordered to when I received it, as I got it the Monday after the email.Guest wrote:What do you mean remind them? Why did the doctor decide you needed the more costly BiPAP, usually you need to fail CPAP before going to BIPAP. Pressure over 15 cm is usually a need for bipap. Jim

Wasn't it Dr. Krakow who put all of his patients on a BiPap to get better compliance?

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Re: Buying a Bipap
So 15 is the magic number? Being that my 95th% pressure each night is almost 17cm (which is my max), and since I just got my auto device about a month ago, should I be talking to my doc about possibly switching to a BiPAP?Goofproof wrote:Why did the doctor decide you needed the more costly BiPAP, usually you need to fail CPAP before going to BIPAP.
