Hi all,
I am a patient that's been reading the forums for a good part of a year, great info here. I have a good friend who has been living outside of the country and has severe apnea but was the victim of really poor medical advice from his doc and while I am not sure which machine he was issued, dealt with a machine that was set way too high in terms of pressure and made it unbearable for him to receive therapy. He has recently moved back to the states and is in SLC. I was wondering what sleep clinic I can refer him to for proper care. I don't know much about the insurance his new employer will be giving him, but I do know he needs to be shown that with proper diagnoses and prescription his apnea is treatable.
Thanks for your support!
Cheers,
RD

I am in Utah Valley, 30 minutes south of Salt Lake. I see Dr. Julia Meyer. She has been great. I have used DME in Pleasant Grove. Very accommodating and helpful.

I have been told the sleep center at LDS hospital now has sleep comfort beds so you can make the bed as firm as you need it. I see Dr Paul Temen at the University Sleep Center close the the U and really like him. If my back would tolerate a bed that isn't brick like, the beds are fine there. Most insurance companies are likely to cover one of these sleep centers. Dr Teman is not a pulmnologist :sp?: who became a sleep doc, he specialized in sleep medicine to begin with.reeldreams wrote:He has recently moved back to the states and is in SLC. I have used both Alpine Home Medical and IHC Home Care as my DME, the reason I switched DME's was an insurance change. I have been happy with both. Alpine has a bed for mask fittings, IHC has recliners.
