Aw, come on!!! Gimme a freaking break! Who's the IDIOT coming up w/these insulting ideas?? We patients are all so dumb we need a Smiley face to evaluate mask fit/leaks and we women especially are so simple minded we''ll choose a Resmed rather than a PR or other because Resmed comes in pink????

Besides, I'm NOT a fan of pink.

I can think of quite a few other features much more useful to us as patients and as women patients than a Smiley face and a pink xPAP!!!

You took the words right out of my mouth. PINK! Do they make blue or camo for men?

I want one in purple with glitter!

When I got my S9, I made my DME swap out the PINK for the more subtle blue. Yes they think we are stupid. When buying a new mask, I thought the "for her" models would be smaller or lighter... no, just pink instead of blue.

You know what is most sad about the recent state of affairs is that Resmed was the leader in recognizing and respecting patients' ability to understand their therapy and their data and to provide an avenue for easy access to that data via the LED screen. Tightrope walking between the FDA and the US medical profession preferring to keep us in the dark about our therapy data and results and doing what they could to provide as much access and as much data as they could.

Now - all of a sudden they are pandering to the dumbing-down crowd! PINK AutoSet for crying out loud!!! Mumble, grumble, cuss, snort. Smiley face leak indicator.

Belongs on the Barbie aisle in the Toy Dept.
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

I suppose it would be nice if you had a choice of colors to match your decor, but assuming all women prefer pink is ludicrous. I happen to favor blue myself. So if they someday make a blue model, do I have to worry about someone coming in to my bedroom and point to it saying "nanner nanner, you have a BOY'S machine"--back to grade school. Sheesh!!!!!!!

Perhaps they should sell "skins" like they do for iPods so you can choose something to match your decor or make a bold "statement".

Even better, they stick to providing good quality machines with useful data.

They must be pretty stupid to think that we ladies are THAT STUPID!!!!!!!!!! Has to be a man that thought we would like "pink".................just like a bra, I swear it had to be a man that invented them

My hubby likes "doggy bras". You know, the ones that make Pointers out of them Setters.

Actually, I thought men LIKED bouncing boobies. But, what do I know?

I fail to understand the uproar. From a functional standpoint, nothing has changed. They're not taking away the wonderful data access and display options by "dumbing it down" in pink. It's the same S9 AutoSet so many know and love.

The benefit? Added consumer choice. While many couldn't care less about the color, many others do care. One size does not fit all, so I welcome the added option of a pink color choice rather than silver only. Would everyone be as upset if the color choice were blue, green or black?

Now from a marketing perspective, it is what it is. We can all argue the issue of reinforcing gender stereotypes ad infinitum and perhaps never agree. But the decision to market a pink color option and target it at women certainly won't make me livid even if I disagree with that marketing stance. If I don't like it, I don't buy it. In a capitalist society, you vote with your money.
