S9 Autoset internal clock?

Post by apneawho » Sat Oct 08, 2011 8:12 pm

I just got my S9 Autoset last week. I noticed the time is off by 2 hrs on my data in ResScan. Can I reset the clock inside my machine? Browsed the clinician manual and didn't see anything there. Did I miss it?

You can't reset the internal clock unless you erase all data first. I'm in the same boat but was concerned about erasing data in case it erased compliance data that I still need for the next few months.

If you don't need compliance data you can do "erase all data" in the clinician's menu and then you should be able to reset the clock.

Maybe someone more experienced with this machine will reply and say that it won't erase compliance data from the machine after all (which would be good news).

Once you erase the data, can you set time and date, or just time?

I believe you can set both (there was another thread about this here some months ago).

I seem to remember that erasing all data will only leave the blower hours used on the machine. I think everything else goes.

Resetting the clock does not necessarily clear the data - I think it will only clear it if you try and change the time to a previous day (ie before 12PM of the current day) or otherwise change it to a time with recorded data.

Try leaving the machine for a few hours and try again.

I have changed my time a few times without losing/clearing the machine's memory.

I think you missed it. It's on page 16, Clinical Setup menu, "Options", Date and Time. I've never tampered with any of the settings that I "shouldn't" get into, so I have no idea what affect changing the time will have on anything else.

You can reset the date and time without loosing any information. Go to the clinical menu, scroll down to the window options, there you can set date and time, it will let you correct for the same day but not backwards.

While we are on the topic, who remembers what happened when we switched to DST?
I think I set my S9 clock forward and then had 1 hour of blank data from 2-3am. It seems some others did too,
This time I think I'll wait until the next day to see if it changes on it's own.

I have tried to reset my time and date but get a message that it is not allowed unless I erase all data.

Frankly, I'm surprised to hear that others w/same machine have had success without seeing that message. For those who are saying it's possible, have you actually done it or just reading from the manual?

I have changed my time. I don't think I ever needed to change the date. Are you waiting until after 12 so there is no data that it will overwrite?

I did not get that message when I changed the time this morning. I went into the clinician's menu at 838 am and changed the time. My screen time was 538 am. No messages. I just downloaded data from my card at 3pm and the data showed the previous time that was set when data was recorded. Got no messages when I reinserted data card back into my machine.

Actually, in my case the time is correct, the date is wrong: it is 1 day in the future. When I try to change it to the correct day, the message says, "Invalid date/time, data exists for this time period." And it won't let me do it. I've read that you have to erase all data in order to reset the date.

The reason it is incorrect is because when I recently went to London, I was going to bed at 2:30 a.m., but the time on my S9 read 9:30 p.m. So I thought I would change date & time so that all of my sleep data for the 10 days I was going to be in London would be correctly time stamped. The machine let me put the date to the next day, but when I tried to reset the time to 5 hours in the future, it wouldn't let me and gave me the message above (even though no data really existed at that time for the following day).

So, not wanting to risk erasing any compliance data, I have left it the way it is and figured I would ask DME if it was ok to erase all data the next time they ask me for my card.

oh, I see. If you would want to download your data to your computer and save a file there for compliance, then you could make the date change after that if you want.

Right. But I once wanted to email some sleep data to the DME and she told me that they didn't have email, so I didn't want to take any chances with the card. I was afraid if I wanted to give them data in any form besides actually handing over my card that they wouldn't know how (or wouldn't be able) to import it into their software, so I didn't want to risk erasing data in case the next time I put card in machine it erased the compliance data from the card.

(I'm not really sure which data the S9 reads and writes to and from the card, and what would happen if you have usage data on the card which is then erased from machine).
