Fusterated with Provider

Post by cpeterson » Wed Oct 05, 2011 4:08 am

I'm fusterated with the provider taht does my CPAP supplies.

I had to order new pillows for my mask about a month ago. The pilows were on back order and was told when they are in they will mail them to me. I recieved a phone call they didn't want to mail it. I had told them I will be in on Saturday to pick them up which was two days, the lady said it would be ok I had told them I work nites.

I had went in on Saturday and was told they were placed back on the shelf cause I didn't come and get them. I had told them when I called them which was on Wednesday afternoon. Lady at desk had said we can't hold stuff for more over a week. Told her I received a call from you office that item was there. I had showed her and had her listen to the voice message. She just turned red, cause it was her.

She had told me that going to have to wait cause they no longer have the product cause it was placed on the shelf...

She ordered a new one said will be in 7 days. I have waited now for over 2 weeks, called them up yesterday. they had said it will be a couple of weeks for the product to come in.

I'm not sure if it's time to move on to someone else to provide my CPAP supplies. I have my eye on a company that is just dedicated to CPAP. One I have been dealing with is a place that is associated with the hospital / clinic for supplies / health care supplies.

I have grown tired and told them that they have been providing me with horrible care and looking for another company. I have been with them years, and since I have all my care with them, my records are with them also.
How much is too much? When is it time to just move on?

I'm fusterated with the provider taht does my CPAP supplies.
Sorry to say, I haven't heard very many of us having a much different experience. I buy supplies on line. I bought all my nasal pillows on Ebay and have been pleased with price and quality of product. You will need to get your Rx from your doctor and fax to company like cpap.com if you decide to do this.

Ask the provider for your prescription and find a new DME provider! That's INSANE service!

I have to agree with what the others have said. If you can change providers with your insurance, do so. Most insurance companies have a list of various providers, so check it out. There is no reason for a provider to provide poor customer service.

You can try going up the "food chain" at your DME and seeing if someone higher up will help, but if your Insurance allows for multiple providers, I'd switch.

If you're ok going out-of-pocket and getting reimbursed, you can use our hosts (CPAP.com) and get the supplies from them. For me, that means paying up front and getting out-of-network reimbursements, so I'm stuck using my Insurer's DME of choice for most of the more expensive stuff =(

While you are shopping for a new DME you still need some replacement pillows now.
