Last night I got in bed and put on my mask just like every other night since I got it on the 23rd of September, but something was off last night. I never could put my finger on it, but it was driving me insane and it felt like I was suffocating even though I could feel air going in because I could open my mouth and it would blow out, but as soon as I closed my mouth the suffocating feeling came back and then I'd have to take a huge deep breath through my mouth to feel "right" again.
I called my DME rep thinking he might suggest I try a different mask, but he just told me to take some OTC pills for Allergy/Sinus.
GRRRRR.
Last night was the first night I couldn't get to sleep with it on.
I ended up using a spare mask my husband has but it felt like a brick on my face.
I had a helluva night with my mask last night

I experience the same thing every once in awhile. Not sure why some nights are different. For me, I have to lay there and work through it. Once I settle into a rhythm of breathing I am okay. I certainly know what you are describing. Tonight will be a better night.
