I will be picking up my S9 Autoset next week (and returning the S9 Escape Plus the DME stuck me with). I'm interested in getting a climate line as well to avoid any rainouts issues before they start. Is this something the DME will provide as well if I ask? Or is it not something that is covered by insurance and I would need to pay out of pocket? Obviously insurance paying > me paying!
If the DME will provide it if asked the right way, any suggestions on how to best accomplish this?

Re: S9 Climate line
My insurance paid their portion for climate line and other supplies issued. I have to pay my 20 percent. Don't think there is any right way to ask. The DME won't give it for free so if you want it just ask for it and they will submit to insurance. Not sure how much climate line costs on average. I did not get a bill for anything but rental of the machine and I didn't ask. I like the climate line. No rain out at all so far.

Re: S9 Climate line
Climate line tubing is around $50 out of pocket whereas regular tubing is around $20. If you have insurance, they will probably pay a portion and you would have a balance. In my case, DME billed insurance for a fantasy number around $75, insurance paid $45, and my portion was $30.

If you could talk then into replacing your unit for the data capable one. You can try asking. They usually have the climate line hoses in stock. You will certainly have to pay your 20% but you will have what you need.

Re: S9 Climate line
I just bought one for $35 on eBay for a backup S9,but haven't received it yet. I paid for both out of pocket, but my original DME (now Apria) proved the first climate line at no additional cost. I found the unused s9 auto for $300 on Craigslist but it was missing the Hi8 tank (another $30).
I just decided to buy the hose, and avoid the "hassle" for $35.

Re: S9 Climate line
I bought my newest climateline for a penny from cpap.com (it was the special when I bought my autoset.)
The 'universal' cleaning brush is way too large. It was a waste of money.
