S9 Reported AHI

Post by Sidlee » Fri Sep 30, 2011 6:55 am

I am a new user of the S9 Elite and very pleased with it. Concerning the AHI as reported by the S9 for the last nights usage, is that my corrected AHI due to S9 usage, or is that my untreated AHI that the S9 is seeing ?
My AHI has been reported on the S9 from 0.9 to 2.1

My assumption is this AHI as reported, is the number after CPAP treatment, not my true AHI with NO treatment.
Thanks for the help
Sid

That is your actual AHI with the cpap during that sleep time. Anything <5 is considered acceptable.

You can also search the forum to find software that can read the SD card on the S9 and show you the numbers/events/other stuff over the course of the night. It's called ResScan.

The AHI number on the device is the average across the hours you slept, so sometimes it is helpful to see the minute-by-minute break down.

At any rate, your numbers are pretty darn good, I can't seem to get below 1.5 myself =)

Sidlee, your assumptions is correct. The AHI you see in the morning is the result after a nights treatment. You're doing well.
Are you able to use your machine all night? That's the only way AHI has any significance.
I hope you feel as good as your numbers.
Thanks for posting.

I'm glad I found this Forum. Now I'm not alone. I am a 5.5 year user of CPAP unit

I love hearing from folks who have had such a great compliance history! Well done.
