Yay...maybe I can get a new mask now.

Post by TheDreamer » Wed Sep 28, 2011 8:27 am

My DME finally submitted to insurance that I didn't get a new mask like they had told it back in April (but I didn't get a new mask....they still haven't called me about the mask I had asked about)....so maybe I don't have to wait until the end of next month to try getting a new mask through insurance. (was getting replacement cushions, and headgear [which DME doesn't carry] through the auction route for old mask, but that's harder now....its like over a year old now, the elbow swivel squeaks so that's been annoying....)

Though this is the 3rd time I've had trouble where they billed a mask that I didn't get/keep and took forever to reverse things so that I can get a new mask. So, I've been debating the whole should I find a new DME....except that I don't hear much of other places being any better.

Though I should do a final download of my CPAP before I switch to the new machine I recently bought using LEAF..... since once I switch, I think my compliance report will start looking bad

The Dreamer.

I have never had this sort of trouble with supplies with my DME. If you don't want to change a talk with the supervisor/manager may help as they don't want to lose your business.

Why would you expect your compliance data to degrade with a new machine? Shouldn't any machine record the hours it was used?

Good luck with the new mask.

Sorry if this has been covered, but what is LEAF?

Yes.. you definitely need a new DME. When you pick one, be sure your insurance works with them. A DME makes their money by selling equipment. If they can't do that well, then their business suffers - and you suffer.

Interesting. I always wondered where the people selling masks on ebay in the US get the masks from.
