Pls. help me read these numbers!
My sleep study report just quotes figures which don't mean much to me, and they weren't explained by the doctor. Please can someone interpret them, or at least let me know if the apnea is mild, moderate or severe. Total sleep time: 230mins.with sleep efficiency reduced at 65%. Latency to sleep onset: 63 mins. with a REM latency of 125mins. Moderate snoring. 2 obstructive apneas with 86 hypopneas for a disturbance index of 23 events/hr. Desaturation: a nadir02 sat of 71%. A baseline sinus rhythm. Leg movements: an index of 2 events/hr. Really hope someone can help. Thanking you in advance!
If it is to be it is up to me!
Suntan, there's lots of info in the cpapopeadia, in the cpap faq (blue book and red balloon above the message list.If it is to be it is up to me!
You'll also fine info in https://www.cpap.com 's faq list
The bottom line: you've get many hypopneas (partial breathing disturbances), and very low oxygen saturation (the amount of oxygen in your blood). They have to be treated.

suntan,
The # of events is not as high as some folks here but the high number of hypops vs aponeas is of concern. I am not sure what your quoted SpO2 numbers mean but if that figure is meant to be SpO2 as I understand it then you need to take action.
Good luck.
