pb 420e for sale

Post by seagull » Thu Feb 02, 2006 12:34 pm

Hello again. I am wanting to sell my pb 420e. I would like to get $600.00 if possible. It will come with the humidifier and software. I will also include a never used snuggle hose. If I get 600.00 I will also pay shipping. This machine has very few hours on it, the humidifier has no hours on it, and is all in excellent condition. I could never fall asleep with it on without sleeping pills and so I don't use it at all. If interested email me at seagulll@webtv.net----note 3 l's in seagulll. Thanks. I need the money.

Dee, I'm very concerned about you selling your machine. It could simply be the mask you are using is too noisy. The nasal pillows are usually much more noisy than the nasal or full face masks. Usually, the 420 is very quiet. If it is not, you should contact the DME or supplier you purchased it from and ask for a replacement. Your grounds are good, because you cannot get therapy if the machine is too noisy even with sleeping pills.

It is not a good idea to discontinue your therapy because you don't like the machine. But it sounds like you might use the money to buy another machine. If the humidifier has never been used, I also question that that might be part of the problem with you not being able to use the machine. You must use the humidifier. You will not believe what a difference it makes, especially if you add some heat to it, even a 2 setting can help, but if you can't stand the temperature being too cold, you can turn it up higher so you have warm air blowing into your nose.

You don't say how long you've been using the machine, but very few hours indicates maybe only 3 or 4 night or a week. Most machines these days are barely above a whisper, with a decibel level of 5 at a pressure of 10. Of course at higher pressures, any machine is going to be louder, and that may be your problem that you require higher pressures and you consider the machine too loud. If it is quiet when it first starts it is probably okay.

Have you tried ear plugs? They will even drown out my husbands snoring, but I found out they increased the noise of my Swift. Haven't tried them with a nasal mask like my Activa, but I suspect that it would be quieter. Seems the nasal pillows increase more internal noise.
