1. Size is irrelevant, unless you have to travel with it alot.

Hi,

You can set this up as a poll I think ?

But to me size doesn't matter in a CPAP, just the therapy the machine dlivers.

So choice = 1

On the topic of size - thought some might enjoy the photo #7
http://www.internetage.com/cpapinfo/pb3 ... index.html

It shows *part* of a blower used in a PB318, photogrphed alongside a new complete (excl h/h) Resmed S8 CPAP unit.

What it shows is how miniturization in xPAPs is occuring at a fairly steady pace.

Cheers

I don't travel a lot, so the size and weight of the machine is irrelevant to me in that respect. As far as home use is concerned, on one hand it is nice not to have a bigger machine because it takes up a lot of space on the bedside table. On the other hand, it is nice to have a machine heavy enough so that an errant tug on the hose won't pull it off the bedside table.

In my perfect world, I'd like a tiny little machine that is really heavy. While we're at it, it would be nice if it someone would design a machine that could be disguised as a lovely antique jewelry box. (But I'm not holding my breath on that one.)

Most machines are relatively small anyway. If they were not, then size would be a factor. Like mentioned, if you plan to do a lot of traveling, then size is very relevant. For most that just use them at home, it probably doesn't matter. IMHO

The last time I talked to my DME, I was telling him about my co-workers machine and how small it was (which he provided to her), and he made a good point to say, yea, but the bag you have to carry is still the same size and weight, so I guess it doesn't matter. She doesn't have a smart card or CFlex with hers, so I guess I would rather have the larger machine.

I didn't realize how much I traveled until I got nailed down with CPAP.
For some reason the difference in size between my Remstar Auto and my PB 420E DOES seem significant when lugging it around an airport all day.

If I was just driving or not travelling much, then it would not matter as much. Although the 420E just seems to give ME better therapy than the Remstar Auto, which is definitely an important factor.

Size is extremely important.
Oh, was this about cpap machines? . . . never mind.

I'd like to to be small enough I could fit it in my truck, and light enough I could carry it in the house.

Size of the cpap isn't important, its the length of the hose that you need.
