Couple of new problems

Post by Sleepy2011 » Mon Sep 05, 2011 6:02 pm

I have a couple of new problems:

I keep removing my mask and turning the CPAP off without remembering. It seems like I remove it around 2 am and notice around 4 or 5 am that I have removed it. Anybody else had this happen? The first time it happen it kind of freak me out.

Mr Doctor reduced my pressure from 8 to 7 and I have not slept as well since. Should I go back to 8? I feel like I did better on 8.

It is common to remove the mask during the night and not remember it. Especially when just starting out with this therapy. The brain isn't used to sleeping with all this stuff attached to its body. You might try adding a bit of tape to the mask and skin so that the removal of the mask causes you to wake up and realize it shouldn't come off.
Some people put socks or mitten on their hands to make it harder to remove the mask.

A 1 cm pressure change at your relatively low pressures won't hurt a thing. Either change it back to original 8 cm or ask your doctor if you are uncomfortable doing it yourself. The whole idea is to sleep well. Why did the doctor want to reduce the pressure?
