ResScan "Flow Generator" (S8 Elite II

Post by skeezix » Sun Sep 04, 2011 4:11 pm

Hi,

I have the above-mentioned cpap machine and I would like to get a printout of the data stored inside it (graphs, etc.)

I've installed the ResMed software and my computer has a card reader. I also have the ResScan Clinician Manual.

Question 1: The manual speaks of a "flow generator". What does this do? Will I need it to use the software and see the stored data? If yes, where can I find more information about the flow generator's function, price, etc.??

Question 2: I didn't see any information describing how to upload the data from the cpap to the memory card. How is that done?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The flow generator is your cpap machine.

Not familiar with your particular model but all resmeds need a proprietary ResScan card, and also a proprietary card reader or usb connector [Resmed unit to computer]. If you don't have both, can't download data to your computer....

And the S8 IIs require a special proprietary card reader cable which has been discontinued by Resmed and are difficult to come by now. I believe I read that they are offered occasionally on e-Bay and that they are available yet from some foreign country websites, possibly Asian websites.

Bless you, Uncle_Bob!!! Those Resmed S8 Elites, AutoSet Vantage and VPAP Autos are three terrific PAPs. The S8s were a great series. Their only flaw in my opinion was the need for the proprietary data card and card reader. I was delighted when the S9 Resmeds came out needing just a regular USB card reader and digital data card.
