using bipap

Post by caz » Tue Aug 30, 2011 2:25 pm

I have been on cpap, and now bipap, since April. I was 34api and am now 23+ per hour. I am using a quattro fx mask and it fits well, with no leaks. I have even bought a throat spray, to stop snoring, to use with my mask, to see if it helps. I've not tried it yet. Does anyone think this might help. I am so desperate to get this sorted. I am really depressed with the whole thing. I am also type 1 diabetic, which I find easier to manage than sleep apnoea. Any help would be great.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of great people here to offer support and help. It helps us to help you better if we know what equipment you are using. Please add it to your Profile in text pleaseas images are tiny and all models look alike. Here's how. wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile

23 AHI (did you mean that instead of api) is way too high if you are on the machine.
If your are snoring still then something is wrong. The spray will not help. So sorry.
Let's figure out what machine you are using and see what software you need to get some reports so we can see why that AHI is high and you are still snoring.

Pugsy is right, we need more information for someone to help you. I use a S9 VPAP auto (resmed's bilevel, bipap is a Respironics term) and others here use bi-level machines.
