My Forehead Hurts, Any Suggestions?

Post by Tabanos » Tue Aug 23, 2011 8:12 pm

I have a zest flexifit 406 petite nasal mask. I've only had it (and the machine) 4 days and my forehead is sore. It's not too tight. It barely, if at all, touches my forehead. It does somestimes feel as if it is too big on my face and needs readjusting, but there does not seem to be any seal issues. Please help.

Could it possibly be sinuses? I think some other folks have had sinus flareups on CPAP, and there have been occasions where I've felt sinus pain as well when on the machine.

BTW, welcome!
Thinking of quitting CPAP?

No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:

Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

Thanks I hadn't thought of that, but I did wake up wednesday night and my ears were popping. My face and throat felt over pressurized. A very weird feeling. It's not as sore this morning, just my ears popping a little.

If it is sinus issues, a decongestant or sinus medicine before bed may help. You could also try plain tylenol, or one of the longer acting pain meds. Good luck, keep us posted.

Ears popping. I have had that happen. There are tiny, tiny passageways from the airway to the inner ear and sometimes the pressure does disturb the inner ear. Mostly it is like changing altitude. I found that swallowing or a big yawn helps relieve the inner ear pressure feeling. With time I found it went away or I do the adjustment without even thinking. The forehead thing..I don't have a clue unless it is sinus tenderness. The frontal sinuses are right up there where the forehead piece sits.
