I'm interested in trying the Activa mask but am not sure what size to order. I went through the sizing selector at cpap.com and it told me that the Activa wasn't the ideal mask for me. I called their toll-free number to talk to an actual person but they weren't much help either. They simply said that if the program said it won't work then it probably won't fit. I tried to get some more detailed information (like which measurement caused the size selector to balk) but they did not have a clue.
Does anyone have any detailed specs and sizing recommendations on this mask? It would be great to get the actual dimensions of the mask and what size measurements it will support.
Thanks,
Kevder
Activa Users - Sizing Questions
I have the large Activa and Ultra Mirage. Here are the measurments of both masks, where the gasket touches and seals to your face to give you an idea as to their relative size. The Activa is 1 1/2" tall and 1 1/2" wide at the base. The Mirage is 1 1/2" tall and 1 1/4" wide at the base. The total width and height of the Activa gasket seal is 3 3/4" by 3 3/4". The Mirage's gasket seal is 2 3/4" by 2 3/4". At the top of the Activa where the bridge of your nose goes there is round opening 1/2" wide. The Mirage has on a tapered opening at its top that is 1/4' wide and tapered. I hope this information gives you an idea about the relative size of the Activa. It is a large and somewhat heavy mask. I wear mine where the bottom of mask is almost touching my top lip. I did have to get used to it touching my lips. It almost provides me with information about whether I am a mouth breather or not. It does provide a wonderful and leakproof seal that no other mask that I have tried can equal.
Email the cpap.com people - when I did the sizing guide, it told me that it wasn't recommended for me, either. When I contacted them they stated that the sizing guide has some issues, and they were able to figure out the right size mask.
I've been using that one ever since.
