My appointment for the sleep study titration test is tomorrow.
If my titration level is 10 or higher, it would probably be best to demand an auto cpap with c-flex. Very nervous about this whole situation.
Right now I am renting a remstar pro with c-flex until the newer version comes in. My provider wrote up a claim for $1,800.00 for this machine, which of course my insurance refused to pay. They say an auto would be around $3.000. I have already paid for the F & P cpap, but didn't worke for me, so am trying out the Remstar. Better than just cpap, but still problems at the low setting of 7. My initial sleep study showed ahi of 52, which is severe.
Thanks for listening. Pls help me with any suggestions.
Thank-you
Is the new Remstar pro with c-flex available yet?

Your situation sounds very similar to mine. My pressure was initially titrated at 6 to 7 cm. The DME didn't ask me what unit I wanted, they just gave me an F & P 233. I ended up returning it at the end of my 1 month trial period because I could not get used to it and because the pressure level was too low. I have now ordered an APAP (Respironics Remstar Auto w/C-flex & HH) with a span from 5 to 11cm H2O. My Canadian cost for just this machine is $1040.00. Other DME's I talked with quoted from $1800 to $2000. Yes even in Canada you can get ripped off. My suggestion to you is to get an APAP and crunch your own data, make your own fine tuning adjustments and live better for it.

Darth
Confused again. You say the cost to you is $1040.00, but you were quoted $1800 to $2000? I went to the Oxygen Specialists in Toronto, and they say it will be $3000 for an apap?

Yes the first DME (sleep management group) who my doctor sent my prescription to quoted the $1800 and others that I called quoted up to $2200. The $1040 came from Medi-gas. There should be at least one Medi-gas in the Toronto area. Also remember that ADP will cover up to 75% of $1040 ($780) and your employer insurance will cover some of the other costs.
