Sleep Health Centers

Post by newname » Sun Aug 14, 2011 6:47 am

I had a sleep study done at one of their centers last week. It was pretty comfortable. They didn't seem to use as many facial connections as other places. They seem to get the same results.

Has anyone here been to this place for a study?

I get nervous when an organization becomes big. Big organizations tend to end up being run by the accountants and MBAs. Not that small sleep centers are that well run in the US, either.

Big multi-city DME groups in this country have certainly turned out to be disasters for their victims/patients.

I know nothing about this particular group, though.

My husband has done very well with the sleep health study that they did. The machine that they supplied has made such a difference in his life. Not only does he sleep better at night, but he finds he has more energy during the day and he naps less. We have had a wonderful experience with this company.

Well, I was at one in Mesa, AZ a few weeks ago. It was in a medical building that had converted examination rooms to sleep study rooms. It was pretty noisy as room were not too sound proofed. I was one of the early patients who came in around 8PM. I could hear several other patients as they were getting set up. Also, had quite a bit of light seepage under room door.

As far as sensors, I think the number was 32. I had quite a few on head, face and neck area and chest and legs also.

They try to push you to the sleep partner DME who is co-located with the center. I'm finding that they don't seem to want to put you on an auto-CPAP though, but I guess that is the norm for most Sleep Study medical centers or DME providers. Yes, most of what I read online says that autos are the best. I find doctors and DME providers talking down on autos but most users and and Doctors who appear to not let the money thing cloud their recommendations say they are the best.

Yes, this one was a REM Center until being bought out by Sleep Health. I agree with the comment on small guys getting big. MBAs are probably ruling them so we will see what happens. I am still hoping to end up with an auto. If not, I might not continue on with them.
