Help with Mac/Fusion data download

I have been successfully downloading my S9 SD card for some time. I want to go back to my old ResMed VPAP Malibu which is a semi-brick when it comes to detailed data (no flow data for example). I have a cable which fits the serial port on the Malibu and USB connector on other end. When I connect the Malibu to my iMac, my Fusion/Windows xp recognizes a new hardware connection, but ResScan does not. I guess it needs a driver or something I don't have. Anybody have any ideas on how to solve this? (I could junk my Malibu and buy an S9 VPAP BiLevel; but who has $2000 just to see some data?)
