Night 2 on the hose
Night 2 on the hose
Not as good as night 1, more trouble sleeping (to be fair having to go pick up a drunk teen at 9pm didn't help). AHI = 1.3, more snoring, 7:21 on it (all night).
SpO2 on the 2lpm of oxygen was much better averaging 94% instead of 88%

Re: Night 2 on the hose
Not bad but if you are snoring your settings aren't good.

Sounds like you are doing good. Keep a check on the snoring. If you are aware of only some of it, you may be snoring even more than that. I don't think you should be snoring when pressure is right.

You are a good dad picking up a drunk teen at 9pm.gschamel wrote:Not as good as night 1, more trouble sleeping (to be fair having to go pick up a drunk teen at 9pm didn't help).
I'd say if you got any sleep at all under those circumstances, then you're doing fine.
Best of luck with the teen. Being a parent is hard.

Re: Night 2 on the hose
about the snoring: I wasn't aware of it but the S9 report showed some snoring activity. It happened that I ended up on my back because I wasn't sleeping and snored and had a bad apena event. Woke up because the machine ramped to maximum and was blowing the pillows off my nose.
Re: Night 2 on the hose
Your APAP must have been doing it's job then. You are probably doing just fine. Your AHI and O2 sats look great.
I'd say you are taking to this as well as you take to parenting! You didn't say if it was your kid who called you or someone else. 9pm isn't that late. They must have started early. I know all of that is a distraction, but you really are doing great.

Thanks - it was my son and I was expecting to go pick him up but the drunk part was an unpleasant surprise.apneawho wrote:Your APAP must have been doing it's job then. You are probably doing just fine. Your AHI and O2 sats look great.

True, 9 isn't late but it's my regular bedtime and getting stirred up that late (for me) caused my sleep issues.
The APAP does seem to be working at pretty low pressure levels, just need to avoid sleeping on my back.

Hello...adjustment takes time...teens are another story! You should not be snoring! Have you tried a chin strap? The best one on the market and the only one that works is The Ultimate Chin Strap for Snoring (one for sleep apnea too!). I have tried many from very inexpensive to way expensive and this one works...it keeps mouth shut while at the same time opening air passages. Good Luck and it does get easier as you adapt....good luck...we all just want a good night's rest......M
