mirage mask question

Post by scottyeric » Tue Jan 24, 2006 1:48 am

What is the difference between the Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask and the Mirage Series 2 Full Face Mask. I have read about them on the resmed site but they both sound about the same. I did a search on this site for a thread about the difference but I did not find anything about them. It is time for a new mask and any help would be appreciated.

Hi Scott,

The main difference is that the older Series 2 has a rigid vertical bar up to the forehead pad. The newer Ultra Mirage's vertical bar is adjustable, letting you tilt the angle at which the mask fits against your face. Ultra Mirage is a distinct improvement over the Series 2, imho.

The UltraMirage FF is the one you want, it has the forehead pivot where the Series2 mask doesn't, you need the forehead pivot to eliminate any leaks in the eyes. The cushion and sizing are the same for both masks.

Be sure you get it sized right. Use the sizing chart on cpap.com, main measurement is from the center of the pupil of the eye to the center of the chin with mouth closed.
