Beggining here...1 day report
Beggining here...1 day report
In the process of learning how to read the Cpap reports - at the very begginning - I would apreciate a lot if someone could give me a quick analysis on this report from my Intellipap Autoadjust, extracted today and related to my last sleep's night. Is it ok or not?

Welcome to joys of CPAP!
I can't give you an answer, but I do know that before someone else can, they'll need to know what you're using. Can you go into your user profile and update the equipment you're using?
Also, when you choose your equipment, use text, not pictures (many machines look the same).
That will greatly improve the answers you get. Good luck and sleep well!

Thinking of quitting CPAP?
No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:
Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

OK, I put your Smart Code into the report generator and I see you are having a lot of exhale puffs.... meaning you are losing some therapy out your mouth. It isn't terrible, but enough to work on either keeping your mouth closed (not always easy to do), or consider taping your mouth or switching to a mask that covers your mouth... either FFM or a hybrid.
Your AHI last night was a 5.0. That is OK, but we all strive to get it below 5. I maintain an average of 1.5. Your 90/95th%tile pressure was an 11. What is your pressure range set to? Basing a range on just one night isn't ideal, but if 11 is routine, your pressure range should be something in the neighborhood of 9-13.
Please take a minute to go up to the User Control Panel (under search, top left) and then to your Profile and then Edit Equipment. Choose your gear from the pull down menus and the choose to show those in TEXT, not pictures. This will put your equipment at the bottom of every post your write automatically, like mine below.
Let us know how you do tonight..... keep on tweaking until you get it right!

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Ok, job done!
Re: Beggining here...1 day report
My pressure range was set to 5-11, with a 30 minutes delay at the beggining. But I may be doing something wrong about the ramp. It was a surprise to see this 95% at 11. I wasn't expecting it at the maximum all the time.Emilia wrote:OK, I put your Smart Code into the report generator and I see you are having a lot of exhale puffs.... meaning you are losing some therapy out your mouth. You have to remember that pressure settings based on sleep study/titration can be off a bit due to the fact that sleeping under those conditions are not 'normal.' If you have another night of a 90/95th%tile at 11, you definitely need to adjust upward on your range. You could reset it to 9-13 for tonight and see how that goes for you just for giggles..... Delay (ramp) is optional. I don't use it at all, nor do most of us, but jumping in at a pressure of 9 might be hard for you. You could set the Delay to start at 6 and get up to 9 within 15 minutes to allow you to adjust.
What do you have for your Smart Flex settings? This will also influence your pressure.....
If it was I, tonight I'd move my setting up to 9-13, change the Delay, and possible tape my mouth with blue painter's tape. Do one or more of those things.... and see what happens!

Ok, I'll try your recomendations tonight. For now I will only skip the mouth taping, which I think I'm not prepared for yet.Emilia wrote:You have to remember that pressure settings based on sleep study/titration can be off a bit due to the fact that sleeping under those conditions are not 'normal.' You asked about my smart flex, it's set to 3 (max, right?). Should I change it?

Hi Emilia,
I did follow your suggestions, with pressure 9-13 and delay at 6. Take a look at these results....amazing how I got the same 11 pressure at 95% of the time.

I am not sure about your readings/equipment. My report concerns chin straps. does your mouth drop open when using your breathing machine...mine does/DID..switched to The Ultimate Chin Strap and my pressure levels dropped from 14 to 9 because I am getting all the air that was escaping thru my mouth into my air passages...who knew...good luck to you...
