Activa Nasal Mask Help

Hi Guys!

Some of you may remember that I bought the Activa nasal mask a while back because I was wanting a mask that was good about not leaking. Well, it certainly IS good about that, but I'm having trouble wearing this mask.

First, I know this mask expands to seal on your face with your xpap pressure, however, I have SO much pressure that it is very uncomfortable. Now I have the straps as loose as they will go, but the pressure is still awful. Is that just how this mask is? I realized there would be pressure with the Activa, but is SO MUCH pressure normal?

Also, the inside corners on my eyes are pressed on quite a bit when wearing the mask, so much so that it is just impossible to relax and go to sleep with it on anymore. I try to adjust the mask, moving it around on my face, but nothing is helping.

I hate this because I paid so much for the mask and also it truly IS wonderful about not leaking, but I just can't handle so much pressure and I'm just too uncomfy to fall asleep. I went back to my Profile Lite Gel mask which is not as good about not leaking but is SO very comfy. I wish the Activa was smaller and not so bulky on the face. I guess that mostly why I love my Profile Lite Gel so much.

Anyway, I am just wondering if that is just how the activa is, or if I'm doing something wrong, or if any of you may have some tips for me? It's very frustrating. Thanks so much guys!

FairSpirit, unfortunately that's just how the Activa is on some faces. It does the same thing to me, even though my pressure isn't particularly high (autopap usually runs at 9 or 10 most of the night.)

The Activa is a wonderful mask about not leaking. But it is large. It presses up under my eyes unless I'm on my back.

What pressure is your machine set for?

Thanks SO much for the reply. My pressure is set at 12. I am glad to know it's the mask though, and not just me. LoL!

I use the Activa as well. If I have it set lower on the bridge of my nose so the lower part of the mask is just above my lower lip, I fond that it doesn't get into my eyes. And, no leaks. Hope this helps. Jen

I was having problems with the Activa blowing into my eyes. By the sizing chart I ordered a large which I thought was strange as my other mask is a small. I ended up ordering the standard size which has resolved that problem
