Beard & FF mask another issue

Post by bigguyz » Sat Jan 21, 2006 7:04 pm

I just purchased a ResMed FF mask. I have a full beard about 1/2 inch in length. My problem is that the mask pushes the hairs into my face and although I can't say that it hurts, it sure gets my attention and it is difficult to get comfortable. I have tried to keep it very loose, but it still pushes the hairs into the skin.

How have you bearded guys overcome this?

We Shave... Really I don't have a beard but if it came to my health, it would have to go. I have enough parts failing to let a little hair stand in my way.

You get used to it after a while. Loosening the straps helps but may leak a little more. So you live with the leaks (minor leaks won't diminish yoru therapy). One thing I did find that helps is a good conditioner like for my hair. softens the beard and its less annoying.

sorry no special secrets here.

I was strongly advised against a FF mask when I started this just a few weeks ago, but bought one anyway and am glad I did.

I use the Ultra Mirage FF mask and the place that I'm prone to some irritation is just under the lower lip. I easily resolve this though by setting the lower membrane of the mask up against the lower lip. This makes an effective seal as well as eliminating the irritation.

This might or might not work for you. I'm sure others will chime in with their techniques though.
