Nasal Aire II pressure feels higher

Post by alexL » Mon Jul 18, 2011 3:09 pm

I use two masks, the Swift FX and the Nasal Aire II. I have both and switch back and forth whenever my face or nose starts to get sensitive. However, I can't figure something out. The Nasal Aire II feels as if the pressure is doubled compared to the Swift FX. I don't understand why that would be since the machine is set at the same pressure. The other thing I noticed is that if I take the Swift FX off of my face, my CPAP detects the mask is off and automatically shuts off. With the Nasal Aire II, when I take the mask off, the CPAP machine keeps running as if it cannot detect that the mask is off. Why would that be?
