Not sure if this has been posted before, but the standard ResMed Hi5 tubs that are "one piece"' can be taken apart, cleaned and put back together.

The amount of mold and sludge in there was astounding, regardless of cleaning with denture cleaning tabs and very hot water. I'm glad I could get all of that out of there while the DME gets around to getting auth. for a new one.

Were you using only distilled water in your humidifier tank? I've never used anything but distilled water and never had any mold, gunk, etc. in my tank.

I've got my original S8 Elite H3i tank in my S8 VPAP Auto now. That's from late 2006 w/little respite since except for when I use my PR S1 BPAP Auto which I got and have used sporadically since late 2010.

When I sold my Elite I sent the brand new H3i tank from my AutoSet Vantage w/it. The H3i tank that came w/my VPAP Auto is "in storage" as a backup.
