I was wondering if anybody out there has Group Health insurance and got their cpap machine through Apria. I've actually been pretty satisfied with Group Health, but I've heard a lot of complaints about Apria. I'm supposed to get my apap for a 2 month trial that will turn into a purchase if it works. Does that mean I get no say in the particular apap machine, or do I just get what they give me?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
Group Health & Apria?
Re: Group Health & Apria?
Ahhh.....Group Health....you must be in the northwest/Puget Sound area?
I'm sorry that I have no experience with GH re apnea equipment, but my experience with Apria in the Seattle area has been less than satisfactory and I won't use them any more. However, they may work and respond quite differently when you go through GH.
Weezy

Is gh an HMO?? If so your HMO may[\I] dictate which machine you get, otherwise it is your voice IF you are willing to fight with Crapria.

Re: Group Health & Apria?
It looks like Group Health uses Apria exclusively. I was a little afraid, but I did read the tips you said about what you need to know beforehand. I got the same machine & mask as you did "Janknitz" and it seems to be a pretty good one. Hopefully they won't be a pain to deal with. But time will tell...
Re: Group Health & Apria?
Getting an auto machine is good news--did you have to insist?

Re: Group Health & Apria?
So does Cigna. I have to either go with Apria for a 10% copay, or else pay out of pocket and end up with a 30% copay after reimbursement. So, Apria it is for the mask and hose =(England wrote:It looks like Group Health uses Apria exclusively.

Re: Group Health & Apria?
Actually, I found out that Group Health only uses the PR Remstar machine. I got to pick my mask though. They had 4 available. I went for the Swift FX Nasal Pillow because it seems to be the one that people use alot and like.
