Fixed leaks and AHI and vibratory snores increased a lot!!

Post by CJNAZ » Tue May 31, 2011 3:18 pm

I went from a few AHI (0.5) and few vibratory snores to a higher AHI and MUCH higher vibratory snores within 6 days. I've got my mask figured out and the average leak rate has lowered plus there have been zero large leaks. Pressure and ramp time and humidity have not changed. See the Encore-viewer numbers below. I'm fairly new and do not understand what might have transpired over the past week. Any ideas?

We all have the occasional bad night, look for trends, at least a week or more I wouldn't get to upset about a night or two.How does your leak graph line look? Smooth is good, spikey not so good, so if spikey correlates with events or increased VS, you may still have leak problems. If you are using ramp, do you have more events during that time? If so, try going without ramp or decreasing the amour of time it's set for. The hose dragging on things can also show up as VS, so hanging the hose may help. Kathy
Any landing you walk away from is a good one; if you don't break your airplane it's excellent.

What pressure do you use?

Could you post one of the more recent daily reports showing the higher AHI? It appears from just looking at the numbers that the Hyponeas are the bulk of your AHI.

The snores? Do you use any special hose management system? Hose movement against bedding can fool the machine into thinking the sound is snores. Are the snores grouped heavily with the Hyponeas? With the increase in the RERA numbers perhaps some of those snores are real and/or you sleep is being disrupted by them.

At any time on your reports was the leak large enough (spiking) to the point where it possibly could have impaired the scoring of the events on the reports where your AHI and VS and RE are lower?
