2 week checkup - thanks to all of you

Post by Pocblue » Thu May 26, 2011 11:48 am

Thanks to all of you for your insight on all the posts on this board. I tend to lurk on message boards, but feel very comfortable posting on this one.

I've had my cpap for about 2 weeks and had a follow up with a sleep tech to "suck" the brains out of my machine. Even though I had looked at the data, I was afraid that I was missing something or would have to switch masks or something - - - -

Well, my AHI was down (from 57.7) to 0.9. My leak rate was 0.0 and my pressure leveled out at around 7.0. The tech told me he was proud of me having these numbers in 2 weeks and to keep up the good work.

I'm still in the adjusting phase - taking the mask off in my sleep is still happening, but I'm sure it will get better.

Thanks to all of you for your information. By the time my equip was ready, I was ready with information galore.

Thanks again,
Karen

Congratulations,

Yes, it gets easier and easier as time goes by. Regarding taking the mask off during the night and not remembering it... I did that last month myself. Doesn't happen often but even after almost 2 years on the machine it can happen to any of us.

Keep up the good work. The hard part is over.

Karen

That's brilliant progress in just 2 weeks, well done.
The mask removal thing tends to improve over time for most.

Great numbers! Don't be surprised if they go up and down depending on many factors including aging of hose, mask, etc., physical status, and so on. Good job!

Super, super results, Karen!

And you sure did a super job preparing yourself for "cpap" therapy.

Excellent.
