Quattro FX Headgear: Either too tight or too loose.

Post by DougVK » Sat May 21, 2011 1:16 pm

I have a SMALL Quatto FX with both a Medium and Large headgear. The problem with the medium is the top horizont strap that goes on top of your head is too small and feels like it pressing against my scull. I thought if I purchased a large headgear it would fix this problem. The large headgear just arrived and now I see if I will have a problem with it too. While it fixes the problem of the top horizontal strap the two top side straps are now far to loose. I am unable to tighten to large head gear top side straps enough to stop eye leaks.

It seems I either have one that is annoyingly tight on top, or one that too loose on the sides. What can I do? It seems like I will keep having to use the medium because the leaks are too much with the large.

We do not all have the same shape heads, they should have custom headgear tailor made for our individual heads.

Pad a Cheek have covers that will fit over tha lower strap. They basically have two layers of fabric. You can intall them on the lower mask strap using three of the layers. This made the medium headgear work better for me. If I remember correctly the pair was 12.00 and a few bucks to ship. Here's what they look like. http://www.padacheek.com/PAC_Original.html

Hi,

Pad-A-Cheek is working with me to make a pad for the upper strap. This requires a thinner and tighter pad that goes across the cheek bone and for me it stabilizes the mask very nicely. I don't know if Karen is ready for production on this yet, but drop her a note.

BTW-I'm using the Resmed Quattro FX in Small and the little Pad-A-Cheek Pads (that I now have covering the upper plastic frame to head gear interface-you place the Pad-A-Cheek pads on top of the really thin blue fabric tubes) are working great for me.

Cheers

My Quattro FX Headgear is killing my ears. I have these sores right on the top of where the ear cartilage begins next to my side burns. I wonder if there is fix out there.

scotty... if you don't see something on padacheek.com... then email her and ask about it. She will make you what you need.

I find the straps on my FitLife Total Face Mask to be somehat loose and to slide around. My solution, which works great ,is to wear a kufi cap on the crown of my head with the straps loose. It keeps the straps in place and gives just enough tightness.

Hi,

might want to see my post on a new FX Mask Liner. A liner may help you re-arrange and reduce the tension in your head gear.
