Supplies
Supplies
Well, my insurance sucks...have a $3000 deductable, and have $0 towards it. I've been using the same supplies since June of 2009, which I guess is unhealthy. I need a Swift LT and a new hose, and have to pay for them out of my pocket. Can anyone tell me the best place to purchase them cheap as money is so tight, I haven't been replacing them. Now the mask is starting to hurt cause I need to wear it so tight to get it to seal. Please help.
Re: Supplies
Try http://www.cpapauction.com. I have bought many a mask from them.

Re: Supplies
Hi, pberg. I sent you a PM.
There are plenty of options for finding low-cost supplies. Check with a local DME or sleep center to see if they might have a sample mask they could give you for free. Online vendors (like https://www.cpap.com) offer good prices on new equipment. Or try the sister site, http://www.cpapauction.com (like ebay for xPAP supplies) for new or lightly-used stuff. Other possibilities are Amazon, CraigsList, or your local FreeCycle (Yahoo) Group.
Hope that helps.

Re: Supplies
Unfortunately, Swift LT is a ResMed product, and they can't be sold on the cpapauction.com site.Try http://www.cpapauction.com. I have bought many a mask from them.
If you look on eBay, you will find the pillows sold for good prices. They are not allowed to "sell" the entire mask on eBay, but instead many of the people who sell the pillows will "throw in" the rest of the mask
You may be surprised to find that the nasal pillows don't last as long as your initial set, so be sure to get at least one set of spares.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. See what happens when you spend years with low oxygen?

Re: Supplies
Which hose were you needing? Long hose from humidifier or short hose?

Re: Supplies
My first year on APAP was a disaster. The last 2 and a half years on ASV have been somewhat better. But it sure doesn't undo the damage of the previous 50 years!Janknitz wrote:With 1785 posts to your name, I hope you've spent at least the last few years with good 02 levels
