1st day in the group

I am brand new to this group. It is really good to hear about others experiences with CPAP, etc. When I get all hooked up I think I would scare small children, but this really helps me sleep, and I feel great. One thing that I have found is that there are many many with this problem. This group is a very good thing.

It sounds like you have the right attitude! My kids think I look like Top Gun and they know that it stops the snoring. Let them touch it and feel the air coming out. I teach people that CPAP is another sleep aid, like a big pillow. It will become part of your normal routine.

Good Luck and hang in there.

Forget Top Gun.
With the mask on you can do the best Darth Vader impressions.

" Luke, Luke come over to the bed side, Luke, Luke ...."

Plus a few other benefits.

Hi, I have had my c-pap machine for 4 weeks now. I took 2 sleep test studies, the second one being for how much pressure I needed. They are wanting to do another sleep test and a nap test study all within 4 months time. I feel like this is not needed because I only have mild to moderate sleep apnea. I feel like they are wanting more money from the insurance company. Has anybody experienced this with their sleep test people?I do not see a doctor who tells me the results of the tests. They have an rn nurse see me. I do not like this. I feel like the doctor should be seeing the patients, especially when it is new to the patients.

Other Sleep Tests

Hose Nose the nap test is taken during the day to see if you can fall asleep and go into REM or dream sleep after sleeping all night in a controlled lab setting. They are looking for Narcolepsy. If your physician won't share then change docs.
