NEW -- ResMed Escape 2 FOR SALE

Post by bbailey231 » Thu Apr 28, 2011 1:31 pm

I have read one topic on this site and the person was ripped a new one for trying to sell the machine I am going to offer here. If you want to rip on me, save your time and effort. If you don't like what I'm offering, just move on

I have a new ResMed Escape II I would like to sell. It comes complete with everything: heated humidifier, hose, filters, Mirage Quattro full face mask with head gear, wonderful carrying cases (yes CASES...each item has its own case and all the individual cases fit nicely into one larger case), data card, and manuals. I am trying to recoup some of my $ as I was misdiagnosed with apnea when in actuality I had a totally different medical problem which has been surgically corrected. I never used this machine. I purchased it, took it home, was planning on using the next week ... my reason for waiting is my business ... but ended up diagnosed with a different problem and never had to use it. Unfortunately, it was already purchased and I couldn't very well return it since they don't take returns so I am offering it now for $700.00.

NOW, before the bashing begins...it is a NEW unit. It has the heated humidifier, several filters, mirage quattro full face mask with headgear, and other stuff. You can't touch this unit for this price so don't bother with the bashing, like I said if your not interested, just move on

Anyone who is interested, just pm me.

Becky

I paid $857 for my S9 Autoset on Cpap.com. Worth every penny.
The users on this forum can and do find way better machines at much smaller prices.
I wouldn't give a nickel for an Escape.

Her first post to this board and already she is nasty and negative. She is not going to attract interest with that attitude. Besides, it's not that great of a deal.

List it on craigslist as you probably aren't going to get any takers here. I wouldn't take that machine even if you offered for much, much less.

You need to advertise someplace where you might be able to take advantage of some poor soul who has no idea what s/he is buying. I blindly took the recommendation of the sleep lab who directed me to a DME who stuck me with an Escape. Finally cost me $300 out of pocket to get an S9 Autoset.

You assume I am a she...and assume "Becky" is actually my name. Of course it is nasty and negataive, I figured I would fit right with most on this board All kidding aside, I wasn't being nasty at all, I was merely stating my view on the bashing I read in the one single thread I read on here.

As you see, the bashing began with I can "post it on craig's list to take advantage of some poor soul" blah blah...While some on this board may not like the escape, there are people who do. There are also people who know the actual value of something. The face mask and headgear alone new are $179...then add in the rest of the stuff. I didn't say I "had to have $700" I said I was asking $700. That is less than 1/2 of what I paid, since I do not have insurance I am the one that paid for it. And WHERE did I say it was a "great deal?" NO WHERE. I said you couldn't touch what I have for the price. You can get the same stuff I have USED for around $500, this is new.

Like I said in my original post, if you don't like it, move on

I don't know anyone here who would "like" the Escape. On this forum we're very much involved in monitoring our own therapy and a data-capable machine is a must. If you paid $1500 for it, I'm sorry you got ripped off.

Well, let's give the OP some space. Someone looking for a travel machine might be interested, but not at $700. I just got a travel machine, mask and gear for 100 less than that for the lot - brand new. (the zzz-PAP silent traveler - if anyone is intrigued)

If the price came down, the Escape would make a decent backup/travel machine. I personally wasn't concerned about data recording when I'm on the road for a couple of days, just something small and light I could pack easily. The S9 system does pack pretty well, and if it wasn't for the prices (this one will come out of pocket for me), I'd go for the S9 Escape as my travel gear.

Yes, I guess I can see that if the price were right. I wasn't thinking of that as our traveling days are just about over.

Not too long ago I had a chance to buy a low hours S9 Escape II Auto for $250.00 and turned it down. That was complete as well. Much more in the ball park of what it should be worth probably.

Mike...He/She did not indicate that it was an S9...it could very well be an S8 II. It was not clarified.

Being designated as an Escape II pretty much indicates it IS a S8 doesn't it? I don't believe I've ever seen a S9 Escape designated as an Escape II.

oops, good point. Hmm, I might still have been tempted at a much lower price point.

That is exactly the point that "Becky" doesn't understand. I am astonished at the number of people who think that the price they bought the machine for is a fair price for comparison. The only fair price for comparison is the actual free market price--what can you buy the same machine for NEW on the streets? By that standard, $700 for that machine would be a rip-off of the buyer. I'm pretty sure that any potential buyers of this machine based on this thread have been sufficiently warned not to pay anywhere near that.

S9"s aren't listed as II'S. Only S8's are.
