Acronym Help for Newbies

Post by welki » Sat Apr 23, 2011 4:18 pm

I was getting frazzled reading posts that referred to all sorts of things in acronyms, did a search and found a list that you might find helpful. I see that there are quite a few members from this forum at this site, too ... more information, more informed!

Here's the link:

http://www.apneasupport.org/viewtopic.php?t=6416

I've seen links to other websites here (and there), so hope that this isn't stepping on anyone's toes. The wiki site (CPAP Definitions) in the blue bar above is helpful, too! (Hint: Look up DME at the bottom of the page)

Look up and to the right... see where it says CPAP Wiki Popular Topics and under that in the lighter blue box it lists CPAP Definitions? We have those listed too!
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Thanks, Emilia .. I did include a note in my post that the CPAP definitions found at this site's wiki (in the blue bar above) are helpful, too ... the two lists combined make a powerful reference tool for new folks like me.

I found it helpful, still do. Maybe others will, too

Very helpful, both: thanks!
Epworth Sleepiness Scale: 14
Diagnostic study: overall AHI: 0.2 events/hour; overall RDI: 45 events/hour
Titration study: AHI: 6.1; RDI: 27; CPAP pressures: 5-8cm

Not-tired behind my eyes and with a clear, cool head!
