System One Users - Show me your backsides

Post by STL Mark » Tue Apr 19, 2011 8:25 am

I recently picked up a used bipap pro and after looking at some pictures online and looking at the back of the device I am unclear how the filters go in. Can someone show me a picture of the back of their unit? Is there a snap on piece that retains the filter media? I may have a part missing.

I doubt you are missing anything.
My PR S1 APAP has the place for the filter but nothing to snap in or hold the filter in place.

It was the same with my M series machine.

Yeah, you just kind of fit the filter inside the little area that is filter size. Sorry for the vague idea there. I'll put up a picture for you in a few minutes.

Yeah, the gray foam filters just get stuffed in the little rectangle and stay there of their own accord. They stay put pretty well, but if you also put the white disposable filter in there, the whole thing tends to pop out. You have to really work the white filter in and then put the gray filter on top of it and push it all in tight to keep them from coming out spontaneously. Not really as hard as it sounds but it does seem like there should be something that holds them in place.

Thanks to each of you for helping me understand, I assumed there was something I needed to order.

I have enjoyed watching the Views count up on this thread, was it something I said?

Okay, so I haven't figured out how to post a picture yet, but here are links to the backside of my machine.

Yep that is exactly what I have. I just assumed there was a part missing when I saw the opening and nothing to hold on the filter.

Thank you very much for your time in posting these.

On my older S1 Auto BiPap machine (rev 1.24 firmware), both filters do tend to pop out in the night. But putting a rubber band around the machine and over the filter slot keeps them there quite nicely. My new machine ( S1 Auto BiPap with rev 2.xx firmware ) doesn't pop out at all. I think it is related to the difference in the fans and a difference in how the machine detects VS events.
