Swift

Post by sleepyred » Fri Dec 30, 2005 2:21 pm

I got a swift from a friend who needed a full face mask.

Question - my activa has a quick release - how do you get the swift off when you need to uh, go to the bathroom in the middle of the night?

TIA and Happy almost New Year!

I just hit the off switch and pull the Swift off my head like a baseball cap. Easy on and easy off!

I was in a cpap fog until I came here to learn!

Why not leave the mask on and disconnect it from the hose? Can't see wanting to readjust it everytime I get up at night.

I just disconnect the smaller Swift hose from the larger hose leaving the mask on and stuffing the larger hose under my pillow (still blowing air) until I return!! Reconnect and go back to sleep!
No problems......

I prefer turning off the machine when I get up for the following reasons:

1. I can the follow by software the number of times (if any) that I really had to get out of bed
2. My eyesight's pretty bad, and I doubt I could reconnect the hoses without putting the light on.

Shut the machine off - for cardreader purposes, and just disconnect the small hose, lift the pillows up on nose slightly so I can breathe, do my thing, put pillows back in place, reconnect hose, push button and get back in bed. I NEVER take off the whole thing or I would be wide awake after having to readjust everything.

I knew there had to be an easier way - just never thought of simply taking apart the tubing! Maybe I'll try it tonight!

Thanks - Happy New year to all!
