Hello!
I'm new to using the CPAP and after a long adjustment period, I'm finally wearing my CPAP through the night.
On the nights I wear it all night, I notice a difference in that I don't need a nap and am able to stay up later. I'm amazed at the difference even now, but, I still don't feel all that energetic. Is that something that will come eventually, or should a good night's sleep give me what I need and this is as good as it will get?
Thank you for any input!
Continued Improvement?
Re: Continued Improvement?
Welcome and congratulations on making it through a full night.
If you do a search for "sleep debt", you should find a number of threads. Basically it means that we need to catch up on at least some of the sleep that we missed before we started therapy. It takes some folks, maybe most folks, a while to get to the point of noticing more energy. In my case, it was so gradual that I didn't notice it for a while. I also found that getting more active, even though I didn't feel like it, helped me to sleep better, which in turned helped my energy level the next day.

Congrats on wearing your mask all night! Recovery sometimes comes with small improvements that you hardly notice at first but not napping and staying up later are big ones! Sounds like you're on your way!SoThatsWhyImTired wrote:Hello!

Re: Continued Improvement?
It takes a while; I started last April; and the extra energy sneaked up on me when I wasn't looking.

Hopefully, you'll get more energy, but don't forget that lots of people without sleep apnea don't have a lot of energy, either.
