ResMed software

Post by boognish » Mon Apr 11, 2011 10:43 am

How does one go about just downloading the data for one night from the memory card into ResMed? I can't find any options in the software to do this, so instead I've had to overwrite all of the data every time, which I imagine will become more and more cumbersome as I get more nights under my belt. I watched that instruction video, but it doesn't even go over downloading data at all.

Be sure to select Detailed or All. You are given the option to Overwrite or Discard. Select Discard. You will have the Summary results for up to a year if I remember correctly w/o double checking, but you will also have the Detailed results for the specific number of days your PAP holds. For instance w/my Resmed S8 Elite it was 4-5 days of Detailed data, w/my Resmed VPAP Auto it is only 2 days of Detailed data. If you keep a "running" file the previous Detailed results will remain as long as you select Discard.

Okay, I did see the option to choose discard. Such a weird term for them to use. I had visions of erasing my card when I read it. But when I choose discard it will just add the new data to my computer and leave all of the data on my card intact, right?

Ahh...good idea. I didn't even see that little locking mechanism on the card before. Thanks.

Ah, but you will notice it is asking if you want to Overwrite or Discard a specific date. At least it does for the VPAP Auto which only holds two nights of Detailed data in the device.

I use Overwrite with no problems. It does not delete old data.

If you download your data after an afternoon nap and then again the next morning after a full night's sleep, you need to Overwrite to get the rest of the data for that day. Otherwise, with Discard, you keep the nap data and Discard the more complete data including the full night's sleep.

Good point.
